Teas by regions

India is the largest producer of tea in the world and accounts for 14 to 18% of all world exports of tea.

There are three primary tea growing regions in India, Darjeeling, Assam, and Nilgiri. To ensure that the consumer is getting pure Darjeeling, Assam, or Nilgiri, the Tea Board of India created the following logos, all of which are found on our site.

Sri lanka as the 3rd biggest tea producing country globally, has a production share of 9% in the international sphere, and one of the world's leading exporters with a share of around 19% of the global demand. The total extent of land under tea cultivation has been assessed at approximately 187,309 hectares
